One person was hospitalized on Saturday after two vehicles collided, sending one down a steep embankment.
Police said a black 2012 Honda Accord was driving southbound around 5 p.m. on Manchester Boulevard when a silver 2005 Pontiac Vibe pulled out in front of it at the intersection with Hilltop Road.
The driver of the Honda, 59-year-old Safinaz Girgis of Manchester, attempted to avoid the collision but crashed into the Vibe, police said. The impact of the crash forced the Honda to drive off the roadway, sending it down a steep embankment. The Honda landed on its roof, police said.
Girgis was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River with injuries that were not life-threatening.
The driver of the Pontiac, 81-year-old Barbara Barrasso of Manchester, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
Both drivers had their seatbelts on, police said.
